The body of a newly born female child was found in a sack in Mill Creek, Dartmouth.
It was found by a cadet from the Royal Naval College in Dartmouth who had been out rowing.
It was in a hessian sack that had been secured by two pieces of cord and which had been weighted down with a piece of lead weighing two and a half pounds.
