Age: 19

Sex: female

Date: 16 Oct 1949

Place: 48 Ladbroke Grove, London

Brigit Eland died following a mystery illness on Sunday 16 October 1949.

She developed a mystery illness and died a few hours later. Her cause of death could not be determined.

Her father, the rector of Coberley near Cheltenham had died suddenly three months earlier on 25 July 1949. After his death her mother took Brigit Eland and her 16-year-old sister to live in Ladbroke Grove where they had been for the previous month.

It was heard that Brigit Eland had only recently been examined by doctors, at which time she was described as being perfectly healthy.

On Monday 24 October 1949 it was reported that no inquest would be held into her death after it was stated that she had died from natural causes following a post-mortem.
