John Anthony Nicholson

Age: 4

Sex: male

Date: 19 Jun 1949

Place: Bloomfield Terrace, Swansea

John Anthony Nicholson was found battered to death in Bloomfield Terrace, Swansea.

He was first noticed missing when his father looked through his kitchen window and noticed that he was no longer playing in their garden in Bloomfield Terrace.

His father said that his dinner was getting cold and so he went looking for him in the park that adjoined their garden. However, he didn't find him and instead he met a policeman who said, 'I should go home if I were you. We'll call and see you later'.

He was found by three children, two boys and a girl who had been playing in the bushes.

It was thought that his head had been battered with a large bloodstained stone that was found near the bushes. He had been partly buried.

It was reported that inquiries were pursued in 'various directions' but that there was no specific line of inquiry.
