The body of a newly born child was found in a cave in Abergele.
It was found on 27 July 1950 by a 14-year-old schoolboy that had been exploring a cave near Abergale.
The child was thought to have been about ten days old.
The cause of death was given as asphyxia. However, the Home Office pathologist said that it was impossible to distinguish between the various causes of asphyxia and said that it might have been accidental.
The police said that they had been unable to determine the child's identity despite extensive inquiries.
An open verdict was returned.
