Percy R Foxwell

Percy Foxwell was found dead in the River Thames at Long Ditton.

He had been missing since 20 December 1899.

During the search for him a clairvoyant stated that he would be found in the river near a waterworks, stating that he had been attacked by a man and a woman and knocked on the head.

His body was found in February 1900 by an employee of the Lambeth Water Company.

Percy Foxwell had been a stockbroker. He had left his office in Throgmorton Avenue after transacting business there on 20 December 1899 and gone to see his mother in North London after which he vanished entirely.

After leaving his mother's residence he had sent a telegram to his home at Ditton Lawn in Thames Ditton informing his wife that he intended to dine in town after which it appeared that he had travelled to Waterloo Station where he dined at a restaurant.

It was said that it was conjecture as to whether or not he took a 9pm train to Hampton Court and that from that point onwards all trace of his movements was lost.
