Patrick OHanlon and Philip OHanlon died in a street fight in Calder Road, Mossend on Saturday 29 July 1950.

Philip OHanlon was pronounced dead at the scene when the doctor arrived whilst Patrick OHanlon died in the ambulance on the way to hospital.

Three brothers were charged with Patrick OHanlon's murder, the charge reading, 'That on July 29 in Calder Road, near its junction with Clydesdale Road, Mossend, they assaulted Patrick OHanlon, unemployed miner, 12 Thankerton Avenue, Holytown, by striking him on the body and face with their fists to his severe injury, whereby he died and they did thus murder him'.

However, nothing further is known about the charge outcomes.

Philip OHanlon was a coachbuilder and had lived in Thankerton Avenue, Hoiytown whilst Patrick OHanlon, an unemployed miner, had lived in Scott Street, Motherwell.

They were buried on Wednesday 2 August 1950 in St Patrick's Cemetery in New Stevenston. They had both been married, with Patrick OHanlon having six sons and Philip OHanlon having three sons.
