Baby

The body of a newly-born male child was found in a railway tunnel in Redditch on Saturday 3 October 1953.

It was found wrapped up in a brown paper parcel by a foreman platelayer in the tunnel between Redditch and Studley.

A doctor said that the child had died from lack of skilled attention at birth and that injuries on the child's body were consistent with it having been thrown from a train after death.

The police were unable to identify whose child it was.
