George Frederick Barker was found unconscious in a pool of blood beneath an open window at his barracks on Friday 2 July 1954 and was taken to hospital where he died on Wednesday 7 July 1954.
An open verdict was returned.
The police said that foul play could not be ruled out.
George Barker had been a corporal in the King's Royal Rifles and had lived in Lyndale Avenue in Child's Hill, London. He had been a National Serviceman and had signed on for an extra year.
He was found by an NCO lying on the ground barefoot in his pyjamas.
The police questioned personnel at the barracks but nothing more is known about the circumstances.
