David McLuckie

David McLuckie died from a head injury after being found injured in Orbiston Public Park on Thursday 19 August 1954.

He had been out playing in Orbiston Public Park when he was found lying on the ground suffering from head injuries. It was later said that he had received his injuries when he fell from a swing.

He had lived in Orbiston Square, Bellshill and after he was found injured he was taken to Law Hospital where he died on Monday 23 August 1954.

His mother said that after he was missed that she went out to look for him and made her way to the park where she saw, upon approaching the park, two men carrying him. They then carried him home and it was found that he was suffering from a head injury and he was immediately removed to Glasgow Royal Infirmary from where he was transferred to Law Hospital where he later died.

The circumstances of him receiving his injury were not clear, but it was later reported that he had fallen off a swing.
