Janet Moore was hit by a car outside The Hurst Pool in West Molesey near Hampton Court in the early hours of Sunday 26 November 2017 and she later died on the following Saturday, 2 December 2017.

She was found injured in the car park suffering from serious injuries and taken by air ambulance to hospital where she later died.

It was said that she had been struck by a car at speed and it was thought to have happened just before 4.20am when she was found.

Shortly after she died the police said that they were opening up a murder investigation.

They said, 'It is clear from the early stages of the investigation that this wasn’t an accident'. They added that they were interested in hearing from anyone who had been in the area between 11.30pm on the Saturday 25 November through to 4.30am on the Sunday morning 26 November 2017 and saw a light coloured hatchback car.

Two people were arrested in connection with her death.

The first man was arrested in December 2017 but later released with no further action.

The second man was arrested on 6 January 2018 but later released under investigation although nothing further is known.

The police said that they thought that the vehicle involved with her death had been a small light-coloured Japanese hatchback car. It had been seen earlier leaving Dunstall Way at about 4.15am. Reports were received by the police next of shouting and of a car speeding off on along Dunstall Way at about 4:20am.

Janet Moore was a mother of two and had lived in Farm Road in Esher.
