Harold Higgs

Age: 55

Sex: male

Date: 18 Apr 1955

Place: Farm Road, Winchmore Hill, Middlesex

Harold Higgs died suddenly after being taken to Chase Side Hospital in Enfield on Sunday 17 April 1955.

Following enquiries the police said that they were convinced that his death was due to natural causes.

Harold Higgs had lived with his wife in a semi-detached house in Farm Road, Winchmore Hill in London and was taken to hospital shortly after his wife dashed into a neighbour’s house to say that Harold Higgs was ill and was choking and complaining of throat pains.

He died on the Sunday after an emergency operation and his post mortem revealed a substance in his throat and body that the doctors could not identify. Following the discovery of the unknown substance detectives from Scotland Yard were called in to investigate, but they later said that they had arrived at the conclusion that there was nothing suspicious about his death.
