Mayowa Ogunbayo was found stabbed at his flat in Park Royal, West London in the early hours of 17 October 2017.
His girlfriend was arrested on suspicion of his murder but nothing more is known. The police described his death as unexplained and said that it might have been self-inflicted.
A file was sent to the Crown Prosecution Service but they said that there was no realistic prospect of a conviction.
He had been stabbed in the heart. His post mortem examination took place at Northwick Park Hospital and returned his cause of death of as a single stab wound to the heart.
Mayowa Ogunbayo was described as an entrepreneur having started his own entertainment company and was originally from Nigeria. However, it was noted that a man with the same name had been convicted on 18 August 2011 for £30,000 worth of housing benefit fraud. The man whose name was also Mayowa Ogunbayo had been 23-years-old at the time and living in Acton.
He was noted for have been photographed with several well-known footballers.
He was also known as Johnny John.
An open verdict was returned at his inquest on 4 March 2020 with it being stated that it is not possible to say on the balance of probabilities if his death was the result of a third person or self-inflicted.
