James Younger was found dead on the beach in Blyth on Wednesday 17 October 1956.
He was found on the beach with cuts to his wrists and throat. His body was found by a lorry driver that had lived in Hambledon Street in Blyth.
The pathologist that carried out the post mortem said that James Younger had died from drowning and that the cuts to his wrist and throat were not deep enough to have caused his death. It was noted that his body had not been in the water for long.
When the Coroner summed up he said, 'It may be that he intended to take his own life, but I am not entirely satisfied that he did so'.
James Younger had lived at 38 Rye Hill in Newcastle.
