James Beattie

James Beattie disappeared in 1950. His skeletal remains were later found in Kielder Forest in early March 1956.

He had been 28 years old when he had disappeared in 1950. He had lived at Binks Farm in Teviothead just inside the Scottish Borders.

Following the discovery of his body his father travelled to Hexham Police Station where his body had been taken where he identified pieces of clothing found on the skeleton as being of a  similar pattern to clothing worn by James Beattie when he had disappeared.

An open verdict was returned.
