Irina Kuzmina

Age: 45

Sex: female

Date: 10 Nov 2019

Place: The Magpie, Little Stonham, Suffolk

Irina Kuzmina died following a fight at The Magpie public house in Little Stonham, Suffolk, on 10 November 2019.

However, an open verdict was later returned at her inquest after it was heard that the medical evidence found no evidence of traumatic injury.

Irina Kuzmina had been attending a party at the pub and had been involved in an altercation with a 52-year-old woman from Dagenham. The woman was arrested on suspicion of murder soon after but later released with no further action.

Irina Kuzmina had been a Polish national and had been attending the party with her 25-year-old partner. They had two children.

There had been 17 guests at the party and some of them had stayed overnight.

During the evening Irina Kuzmina had had an altercation with the other woman, which had involved some hair pulling and grappling. She had later gone to sleep in a room with five or six other people, including her partner, where it was later noticed that her lips had turned blue and she had been as 'white as a sheet of paper'.

An ambulance was called for her at 3.30am by the landlady.

When paramedics arrived Irina Kuzmina was found to have vomit in her hair and on her clothes and she was declared dead at the scene.

Her post mortem found that she was twice the legal drink drive limit for alcohol but that there was no evidence of traumatic injury and her cause of death was stated as having been unascertained, but to have not involved any third party and that there was no evidence that the earlier altercation had caused her death.
