The body of a newly-born male child was found in a carrier bag in the grounds of St Marys Church.
The location of the church was given as St Marys Church in Oppidans Mews and it was discovered in some bushes by the 56-year-old caretaker.
The finding was being investigated by St John's Wood detectives, but nothing more is known.
