Poo Hong Nong was stabbed at Dehems pub in Wardour Street on 28 September 1985.

Four men were tried but acquitted.

Poo Nong had been a bouncer and had worked at the Kiu Lok gambling club in Gerrard Street. He had been known as Singapore Billy and had lived in Westbourne Terrace.

He had been stabbed with a 6 inch dagger.

The four people tried for his murder had been:

  1. 30-year-old man: croupier at the Kiu Lok club who lived in Dartington House, Union Grove, South Lambeth.
  2. 22-year-old man: weaver who lived in Hexal Road, Catford.
  3. 27-year-old man: unemployed, who lived in White House, Headlam Road, Clapham Park Estate, Clapham.
  4. 25-year-old man: unemployed, who lived in Shardloes Road, New Cross.

They had all been Vietnamese boat people that had come to the UK in 1979. They all denied taking part in the murder. 

The weaver admitted having been at Dehems pub at the time, but said he knew nothing about the murder. 

The other men all denied having been at the pub.
