William Algar

Age: 53

Sex: male

Date: 3 Jan 2020

Place: Hounslow Heath

William Algar was killed and dismembered and parts of his body dumped on Hounslow Heath.

It was thought that he had been killed in December 2019. His remains were found on 3 January 2020.

A man was tried for his murder but acquitted.

Four people were also convicted for disposing of his body parts. Several of the people involved were also convicted of the murder of 35-year-old Ebrima Cham who was killed on 19 December 2019 during a dispute over drugs.

However, no one was convicted of William Algar’s murder.

William Algar had been a jazz musician and known as Blaise. His home was being used at the time as a base to sell drugs. He had suffered with mental health-related issues and drug misuse.

It was thought that he was killed because he had been unable to pay back a drug debt to one of the men convicted of disposing of his body and his associates.

He was last seen alive on 1 December 2019 on CCTV cycling in Barnes. When his remains were found he was wearing the same clothes that he had been last seen in.

His body had been dismembered in the bath at his home in Nowell Road, Barnes after which his arms and legs were buried on Hounslow Heath between 16 December and 20 December 2019. His torso was found at his home.

The police said, 'Two men were responsible for the grotesque act of dismembering Mr Algar’s body. When they were finished, they put a suitcase containing the body parts into the boot of an unsuspecting taxi driver who would drop them close to the burial site. A third man was also party to the dismembering of Mr Algar’s body, having gone to buy cleaning products for the activity. A fourth man too had played a part, having dug the holes in which to bury the human remains'.
