Stephen McGiffen died after being attacked outside a pub.
He had been out celebrating his birthday with his girlfriend and other people.
He was found lying in the street near the Old Bank on Yorkshire Street in the early hours of Friday 13 July 2018 and taken to hospital but died later on the Saturday, 14 July 2018 having suffered from serious head injuries.
Two men aged 19 and 20 were arrested on suspicion of assault but later released.
The police said that he was punched during a disturbance involving a number of people.
The police said that there had been a lot of people that had come out of the bars and pubs on Yorkshire Street to see what was happening and appealed for anyone that had seen anything to come forward.
