Kyle Sheehan

Age: 16

Sex: male

Date: 21 Sep 2012

Place: Jiggins Lane, Bartley Green, Birmingham

Kyle Sheehan died after being stabbed in the leg during an altercation in Jiggins Lane, Bartley Green.

He was stabbed as he was walking back from playing football in Senneleys Park just after 10pm on 21 September 2012 and died in hospital a week later on 28 September 2012.

Whilst in hospital his leg was amputated and his kidneys and liver failed.

The police said that they met a wall of silence, noting that they thought that close friends of his might have witnessed the stabbing. It was thought that between 20-30 people had been involved in the altercation.

A detective said, 'It seems a very minor dispute that led to some people being punched and kicked and unfortunately Kyle has come away from that area and spoke to one of his friends and said, 'I've just been stabbed''.

Four people were arrested during the police investigation, but no charges were made. They were:

  1. 16-year-old arrested on suspicion of wounding on Thursday 27 September 2012.
  2. 18-year-old arrested on suspicion of wounding on Thursday 27 September 2012.
  3. 29-year-old arrested on suspicion of wounding on Thursday 27 September 2012.
  4. 23-year-old arrested on suspicion of murder on Friday 23 September 2012.

Kyle Sheehan had been at Bournville College doing a construction course after having completed Year 11 at Bournville School.

A year later 18-year-old Josh Ribera was stabbed to death whilst attending a memorial party at TC’s nightclub on 20 September 2013 for Kyle Sheehan. However, an 18-year-old, Armani Mitchell, was convicted for his murder on 27 March 2014.
