Baby

The body of a male child was found in a sewage tank at the sewerage works on the banks of the River Orwell.

An open verdict was returned.

There was no evidence as to its parentage or how it came into the tank and the police said that their enquiries had obtained no further evidence.

The medical officer of health that had examined the child said that he could not say whether the child had lived or not owing to the decomposed state of the body.
