Simon Whisker died following an altercation in London Road, Croydon at about 1.30am on Wednesday 1 July 2020.
The police released a CCTV image of four suspects that they were trying to trace.
Simon Whisker had been drinking in London Road at the time when he was attacked and was left lying in the street.
He had been punched and stamped on and died nearly two weeks later. Following the assault he was taken to hospital but was discharged soon after. However, he returned on 13 July 2020 after which he died.
His post mortem failed to determine his cause of death.
The police later said that they were not treating the case as a murder inquiry, but stated that they wanted to find the four men to determine the circumstances around Simon Whisker's death.
