Daniel Keatinge

Age: 25

Sex: male

Date: 30 Jan 2009

Place: Formosa Road, Fazakerley, Liverpool

Daniel Keatinge was shot four times in the stomach and later died in hospital.

He had just left his friends home in Formosa Road at about 7.30pm on 30 January 2009 when it was said that a lone gunman shot at him five times hitting him four times.

The gunman who then ran off on foot towards Eagle Dene along a footpath off of Formosa Road, was said to have been white, aged between 16 to 20 years old and wearing dark clothing and a black Lowe Alpine hat. It was also thought that his face was covered.

Police said that they were also interested in identifying a silver car that had been seen in the area.

Daniel Keatinge had himself been in prison earlier for a shooting in which he had shot at a bouncer outside the Wonder Bar on Slater Street in August 2003 but hit two clubbers instead. For that incident he was convicted of wounding, possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life and dangerous driving. He had been 20-years-old at the time. The incident had happened after he had been thrown out of the club for kicking bottles. However, he had returned to the club with a shotgun and wearing a balaclava and shot at the doormen but missed. However, it was not thought that that incident was related to his murder.
