Roy Bigg was found dead in a freezer in a freezer in a basement of what was once a wine bar in Forest Gate on 15 October 2021.
It was thought that he had gone missing in early 2012.
Following the discovery of his body the police opened a murder investigation.
The bar at 342 Romford Road at the junction with Westbury Road, had once been Simpson’s Wine Bar.
His body was found wrapped up in clingfilm in the freezer. It was found after workers were hired to clear the building after the eviction of as many as 20 squatters.
The police appealed for anyone that had any information about him between 2012 and 2021, noting that there had been no confirmed sightings of him in that period.
his post mortem examination was unable to determine the cause of death.
His remains were identified by his dental records.
A relative revealed that Roy Bigg had been gay.
