John Henry Harrington was found on the foreshore of the old town at Southend.
He had had blood oozing out from a wound over his right eye.
He had been a cellar man and had lived in Leytonstone Road, Stratford. He was said to have left home for the city on the Monday morning and that no reason could be assigned for his presence at Southend.
An open verdict was returned at his inquest.
