However it was thought that he might have been killed by Russian agents that used untraceable toxins that trigger cardiac arrest.

Stephen Moss, who was a lawyer, was thought might have been targeted because he had been helping Russian oligarchs bring money into Britain. he had been involved in the Devonia Agreement, a controversial financial deal involving Russian oligarch Boris Berezovsky who was found hanged in his bathroom in 2013.

Stephen Moss had also been a friend of Stephen Curtis who died when his helicopter crashed in 2004.
