Frederick Worral was found with serious injuries in a goods train at Hereford.
Both his legs had been taken off and his left arm broken in two places.
He had lived in Lawrence Street, Birmingham and had been a waiter.
When he was found he had already lost a quantity of blood and was taken to Herefordshire Hospital where he died shortly after.
He had been in a delirious state and insensible, but in lucid intervals he stated that he had missed his train at Chester and then got drunk but remembered nothing more.
He was found in an open Caledonian Railway truck from Manchester bound for Bristol.
It was said that his injuries were totally unaccountable.
