Larry Safie was shot in the head in East Dulwich at 1.15pm on 22 February 2009.
A man was tried for his murder but acquitted.
He was shot with a Glock 9mm gun which was said to have been the same gun used to kill Errol Davis at the SEOne nightclub in Weston Street on 5 October 2008.
They were both shot with a single bullet behind the left ear.
Larry Safie was a student and had come to the UK from Ghana. He lived nearby.
Police said that they were looking for a black man, about 5ft 10in tall who had been seen wearing a hooded top and running off down a side street. Witnesses also said that they saw a speeding car leaving the scene.
