Nadeem Butt died after being attacked in his home in Woodlands Street, Cheetham Hill on 5 August 2020.
Three people, including a 45-year-old man were arrested shortly after on suspicion of murder, but no charges were made. The police later concluded that there was 'insufficient evidence to suggest that the three suspects, or any others, were involved in the fatal injuries'.
Paramedics were called to the property at about 2pm on 5 August.
His post mortem indicated that he received his injuries six days before he was found dead, on 30 July 2020. It was thought that he might have survived for several hours after receiving his injuries before he died.
He had suffered from serious head injuries in what was described as a shocking attack. It was said that his injuries 'were caused during the course of a sustained physical assault using blunt or sharp force'.
His inquest ruled that his death was unlawful.
