Edward Haskell was murdered at his home and his mother was put on trial twice for his murder, the first time the jury failed to reach a verdict and the second time she was found not guilty. She was initially found guilty by the Coroner's jury.
Edward Haskell was found dead in bed with his throat cut at about 10.30pm on 31 October 1908. His mother had put him there 50 minutes earlier at 9.40pm.
