Mohamed Abdirahman Munye was found injured in Butchers Road, Canning Town.
He was hit by a vehicle on 28 April 2021 and taken to The Royal London Hospital with head injuries where emergency surgery was carried out, but he later died on 1 May 2021 without regaining consciousness.
Reports were made of males involved in an altercation shortly beforehand and five men were arrested in connection with the incident, but nothing more is known.
It was thought that he had been hit by the car during the altercation.
It was noted that the incident took place two days after the murder of a man in nearby Coolfin Road, but the police said that the incidents were unconnected.
Mohamed Munye had been a handyman and a Dutch national, although was originally from Somalia. He had had five sons and had been the eldest of nine siblings.
