A woman was found dead with head injuries at a property in Lumley Grove, Chelmsley Wood on Friday 20 August 2021.

Paramedics were called to the address at about 9.30am but the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 54-year-old man was arrested at the scene in connection with the investigation.

A post mortem examination was held on 21 August 2021 to determine the woman's cause of death, however, nothing more is known.

The police said:

We’re investigating after a woman was found dead in a house in Chelmsley Wood. We were called by the ambulance service to Lumley Grove at 9.30am this morning (20 August). A woman in her 50s was found with serious head injuries and was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. We’ve sealed off the house for a forensic examination and our investigation is well under way. A 54-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the investigation.
