Drekwon Patterson was stabbed near Preston Road underground station in Brent shortly after 11.30pm on 18 February 2021.

He was taken to hospital but died the following morning at 9am.

Five people were arrested in early morning raids at nine addresses in north-west London on 8 April 2021 by the police in connection with his murder, but no one was convicted.

The five people were:

  1. 18-year-old.
  2. 21-year-old.
  3. 21-year-old.
  4. 27-year-old.
  5. 29-year-old.

It was thought that he had been targeted and driven at first by black Ford Mondeo reg YR54 NHN which was later found burnt out and then chased and stabbed.

The car that was driven at him had been a black Ford Mondeo with a registration number YR54 NHN  and was found burnt out shortly after in Silver Jubilee Park in Kingsbury on 19 February 2021.

It was recorded in CCTV driving away from the scene.

CCTV evidence also showed Drekwon Patterson being chased, waving for help from passing motorists and then being stabbed before his killed got back in the Mondeo and drove off.

Drekwon Patterson was found stabbed in the street and given emergency roadside treatment before being taken to hospital where he died.

A white van was also seen in CCTV to stop briefly near the scene and the police said they were also trying to trace that.

Drekwon Patterson had been from Wembley and had been a pupil at Harrow college. His family had relocated there five months earlier following an attack in November 2020.

It was also noted that he had been chased a few weeks earlier well by a gang after it was said that he had strayed onto their turf. A friend of Drekwon Patterson said that Postcode violence in the area is rife, and said:

It was only a few weeks ago and we were walking back to the estate when some guys stopped us and asked us where we were from. They chased us, screaming they were going to kill us for being in their ends. It happens around here all the time. There's a lot of post code violence around here.
