Paul Conte

Age: 21

Sex: male

Date: 18 Aug 2021

Place: River Thames, Putney Bridge

Paul Conte was found dead in the River Thames near Putney Bridge on the morning of 18 August 2021.

He went missing whilst on his way home from a party.

He had been to a party in Barnes, leaving at about 12.40am on Sunday 15 August 2021. He was later seen in CCTV in Galata Road and Parke Road in the early hours.

He had sent his girlfriend a text message around that time saying that he was walking back to Putney from Barnes, a journey which should not have taken him more than an hour..

His death was being treated as unexplained.

He had been a kickboxing instructor and was noted for having ADHD, which meant that his initial disappearance was out of character as he didn't like change.

He was described as:

  • 5ft 10in tall.
  • Slim build.
  • Red hair tied in a bun.
  • Wearing a white T-shirt, black jeans, white shoes.

His body was found at about 7.07am on 18 August 2021 and soon after recovered by the Metropolitan Police Forces marine unit.

It was noted that Paul Conte's family later complained about the way the police handled his case, noting that they were the ones that found the CCTV that indicated where the police should be looking and that it was a member of the public that actually found his body, and that after that the police told them that they didn't know where his body was. They noted that other people had done their work in finding his body for them.
