Peter Gilroy died in a police cell following a disturbance at a football match.
He had been at a Dundee-Celtic match on 4 November 1962 when he was arrested following a disturbance and taken to a Dundee police cell where he died soon after.
It was stated that his death was not in any way attributable to any improper action on the part of the police.
His mother, who was blind, later hired a private detective to help clear up the mystery behind his death and he appealed for witnesses to call him.
Peter Gilroy had lived in Porterfield Road in Renfrew.
