The body of a new-born child was found with its throat cut in the River Alness in Cromarty.
A woman was tried for its murder, but a verdict of not proven was returned.
It was claimed that the woman had given birth to the child at Crawl Plantation, Dalmore, Rosskeen, Ross and Cromarty on 29 March 1921 and then cut the child's throat and thrown it into the river.
However, the charge was found unproven and the woman was discharged.
