John Ernest Taylor and Robert Edward Cook were found shot dead in a flat in Roseberry Avenue, Holborn on 31 December 1983.

Their deaths were connected to those of Susan Tetrault and Brian Price who were found axed to death in their bed at a property in St Alphonsus Road, Clapham on Sunday 13 July 1986. They were all said to have been connected with the a southern drugs smuggling operation which was previously uncoved by the police.

John Taylor and Robert Cook were found shot dead in John Taylor's flat on the Saturday morning.

The police were called by a member of the public who found both men dead, fully clothed, in the living room of the third floor flat.

It was reported that they had both been shot with a handgun.

On the following Monday the police told the press that both men were known to have been involved in the drugs trade, saying:

Both Mr Taylor and Mr Cook were known to have connections with cannabis trafficking.

John Taylor had separated from his wife and had lived in the flat with his 20-year-old son. Robert Cook, who had been an actor, had lived in a flat nearby. he was noted for having played minor roles in various London productions.

John Taylor had been previously sentenced to 4 years imprisonment at the Old Bailey in 1981 and at the time of his murdfer he had been on parole.
