Ian Gualavisi was stabbed to death at his family’s restaurant Rincon Costeno, in Maldonado Walk, Elephant & Castle on 14 December 2021.
He was stabbed in the back in front of his parents in the restaurant at about 7.46pm.
He died from a single stab wound.
Customers said that they saw a tall man in a motorcycle helmet burst into the restaurant and attack him.
The police said they thought he had been attacked by to men that had afterwards got away on a moped, heading off towards Elephant and Castle Rail Station. The moped had been stolen and was later found burnt out in Picton Street
The police later released CCTV footage from within the restaurant in the moments leading up to the murder.
It was heard that he had previously been attacked at the restaurant in July 2021 when he was found there with significant head injuries and a possible machete wound in his back. CCTV from the incident showed someone smashing a glass bottle across the back of his head and when the police arrived they found a significant amount of blood, tables and chairs turned over and smashed glass over the floor. However, when he was asked what happened, he said that he wouldn't remember how he received his injuries and that he wanted the matter forgotten.
It was heard that at the time Ian Gualavisi had wanted to open other Ecuadorean restaurants across London.`
Two men aged 24 were arrested in relation to his murder in December 2021, whilst four other men were aged between 16 and 21, were arrested in May 2022 and a seventh man was arrested in June 2022 after he was caught by British Transport Police trying to dodge a rail fare.
In total, ten people were arrested in connection with his murder, but no one was charged.
Ian Gualavisi was said to have previously been a drill rapper by the name of Migo and Kuku.
