A woman was found dead at a flat in Belmont Road, Anfield on Wednesday 12 May 2021.

Her body was found at shortly before 8.30pm when he neighbours went to check on her and the emergency service were called out shortly after.

The police said that her death was being treated as unexplained after her post mortem examination proved inconclusive.

Four people were arrested on suspicion of murder. They were:

Man, aged 33 from Anfield.
Man, aged 33.
Man, aged 22.
Woman, aged 29.

Another 44-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Following the discovery of her body police forensic units were seen at the flat. and the police appealed for anyone with information to come forward.

A local person said:

There's often problems from some of the flats on Belmont Road, people shouting and screaming in the street, and police are there quite often. For a 58-year-old woman to be found dead where she lives, it's awful.
