Ahmed Khallid Abdullah died following an incident at the Garage Club in Wood Street, Liverpool, on 3 December 1995.

He had fallen down some stairs at the nightclub at 6am and taken to hospital were he died around non the same day.

It was alleged that he had been headbutted and that he fell down the stairs and two men were tried for his murder. Howeverm, they were acquitted after it was heard that it could not be ruled out that he received his fatal injuries earlier on when he was attacked by other men in the toiets of the club.

Ahmed Abdullah had been a 21-year-old foriegn student.

The men charged admitted that they had been involved in a fracas with four Yemeni men at the club. 

One of the men was noted as having said to the police:

The lad bottled me, I butted him and he fell down the stairs.

At the trial, the man's defence said the man saw a fight between his friend and another man of Arab extraction. The defence added:

My client saw the other three Yemenis moving in. He stood between them and was punched in the face. He fell down on top of the two who were fighting. He was struck full in the forehead with a bottle. At this stage he was understanably in fear and lunged towards this man and butted him before running away streaming with blood.

The defence for the other man said that the other man claimed that Ahmed Abdullah punched him in the face, pushed him across the dance floor, and hit him again.
