Tyron Riley was found dead on 26 December 2022 at Clarendon Park, Salford.
He was stabbed.
TASK
Write an UNSOLVED case write-up of 612 short paragraphs from the notes below. Keep it neutral and factual.
OPENING LINES (use one of these EXACT patterns)
// A) Victim found deceased
[VICTIM FULL NAME(S)] was found dead on [DATE] at [LOCATION].
He/She/They [CORE ACT e.g., was stabbed/was shot/was strangled].
// B) Last seen / disappearance (if body later found or still missing)
3) [VICTIM FULL NAME(S)] was last seen on [DATE] in [LOCATION].
4) He/She/They [CORE ACT e.g., left a pub/walked home/boarded a bus] and did not arrive.
// C) Unidentified remains
5) An unidentified [man/woman/person] was found dead on [DATE] at [LOCATION].
6) He/She/They [CORE ACT e.g., had suffered head injuries/was recovered from the river].
GENERAL NOTE: Some cases are not typical unsolved, for example, a person might be tried and acquitted, and the question there is the sense whether the person was guilty but there was not enough evidence or it was someone else. Other cases might include a claim of self-defence which is accepted, butt he readers premise is to consider that in a broader sense, maybe in the light of whether the juey aquitted on the grounds that they were not sure it wasn't self-defence, and not on the grounds that they believed the defence, hence still leaving a questionmark hanging over the case and as such unsolved. However the write up has to reflect that in some sense. As such, its less a case of who did it, but whether the jury were right etc.
BODY RULES (BK style)
Use 410 short, neutral paragraphs after the opening. No semicolons.
Use He/She for a single person; They for multiple or unknown sex.
Do not name other living parties (say another man, a neighbour, officers, a friend, etc.).
Cover, where relevant:
Timeline: last movements, sightings, CCTV, travel, communications.
Discovery: who found the body, setting, condition, immediate actions.
Cause of death (if stated), injury overview, suspected weapon or method.
Scene & forensics: witnesses, exhibits, vehicles, clothing, DNA, fingerprints.
Context: brief, evidenced details only (relationship, dispute, recent events). Avoid motive speculation.
Appeals & actions: incident room, public appeals, hotlines, reconstructions, rewards.
Inquest (if any): key finding (e.g., unlawful killing, open verdict).
Case links: police-stated or widely reported potential links (avoid speculation).
Attribute carefully (police said, detectives believe, the coroner recorded). Avoid charged language unless reported.
If the victim survived (attempted murder), do not name the person harmed.
CLOSING LINE (choose one that fits)
No one has been charged and the case remains unsolved.
The death was recorded as unlawful killing. The case remains unsolved.
The case remains open and detectives continue to appeal for information.

NOTES (from editor):
A borough teenager destroyed evidence after stabbing a dad-of-three who died in a Salford park two years ago. On Boxing Day 2022, 31-year-old Tyron Riley was found dead in Clarendon Park after being stabbed. Prosecutor Eddy Steele told Manchester Crown Court that Bradley Waters, 18, of Clough Drive, Prestwich, said Mr Riley initially attacked him, and he was trying to defend himself. A knife which supposedly belonged to Mr Riley came into Waters' possession and he stabbed Mr Riley and left the area, the court heard. Mr Steele said that after the incident, Waters, who was aged 17 at the time, went to a friend’s house who gave him baby wipes to clean the knife. A week later, on New Year's Day last year, Waters surrendered himself to police, admitting he was involved in Mr Riley's death and went on to give them his account of the incident. Regarding the conspiracy to supply heroin offence, on December 15 and 21 in 2022, he was involved in selling heroin to undercover police officers and was subsequently prosecuted. She said: “It was absolutely devastating to learn he had died in the hands of another person. “I had to tell his three kids they weren’t going to see their daddy again. “He was left to die alone, which is something I will never come to terms with.” Andy Scott, defending, reminded the court of Waters' young age at the time of the crimes and that he did eventually hand himself into police. Waters was sentenced on Tuesday after pleading guilty to perverting the course of justice and conspiracy to supply heroin. Judge Nicholas Dean said: “The main offence is that of perverting the course of justice which is always a serious offence. “You heard evidence from Nicola Derbyshire and heard the distress caused to her and Tyron’s family from the events of December 26 and beyond. “Opportunities were lost to police because of your actions. The investigation into Tyron’s death was not as full as it could have been.” Waters was sentenced to five years, with half to be served in prison before being released on licence.
It's been a long wait for Tyron Riley's family. They may never get the answers they're desperate for, but they have finally seen some justice. The dad-of-three was found leaning against a wall in a Salford park having been knifed in the chest. Two years after the 31-year-old, in the fluorescent lights of courtroom two at Manchester Crown Court, Tyron's family finally looked into the eyes of the person who knew exactly what happened the night of December 26, 2022. Appearing on TV screens scattered around the room, Bradley Waters, 18, had earlier pleaded guilty to perverting the course of justice. Then just 17, he told police he 'accepted being responsible' for Tyron's death, but said he had acted in self-defence, claiming he was attacked. This week, at his sentencing hearing, it was finally time for Tyron's family finally to speak about the devastating impact of his death. His mum Nicola Derbyshire, took a seat in the witness box clutching a copy of her victim impact statement. "My son Tyron sadly lost his life on December 26 2022," she began, holding back tears. I couldn't understand it and when I look back on it, it's like a blur. I don't remember a lot about the early stages. I wasn't sleeping. I felt like a shell of a person. All while trying to come to terms with what happened, his body was not released because of the investigation. It halted our grieving and it felt like we couldn’t put my boy to rest. We had our timeline dictated to us by the investigation." She said watching his heartbroken children say goodbye to their dad at their funeral 'broke [her] in ways [she] will never recover from', adding: "The positive I try to take away is how many people were there and loved Tyron. Nobody should have to bury their child." Looking at Waters, Ms Derbyshire said: "I personally feel like a lot of my questions will never be answered because the evidence was destroyed or disposed of. He was left to die and that is something I will never come to terms with. "I constantly think about if the defendant would have called an ambulance, would there have been a different outcome, would the police would have had the full opportunity to investigate his death fully with all the evidence available. "The biggest thing is never fully knowing the full truth of that night. He is not here to give the full truth. Only one person can give a full account. I will continue to fight for Tyron as he is no longer here to fight for himself. His children always ask me how Daddy could die at the hands of someone and not be in prison for it. "As a family we have struggled to accept the charge of perverting the course of justice because of the severity of what happened. Tyron was a happy chappy and devoted dad to his three children. They were his purpose in life. He was hard working and a family man, he would do anything for the people he loved. He never deserved what happened to him. He will never have the opportunity to watch his children grow up. View 3 Images (Image: Manchester Evening News) "This will stick with me for the rest of my life. I can't watch the news as all I see is about the rise of knife crime and I don't want my son to be another statistic. I want justice to be served for the disposal of the knife that caused the death of my boy." The court previously heard Tyron was found by two passers-by at 7.30pm leaning against a wall on Clarendon Park in Salford. Emergency services were called, but paramedics confirmed he had passed away. His cause of death was later recorded as a single stab wound to the chest, prosecutor Eddy Steele said. On January 1 last year, Waters attended Pendleton Police station and was arrested on suspicion of murder. In his interview he provided a prepared statement in which he accepted responsibility for Mr Riley's death, but claimed he acted in self-defence. Mr Steele added: "He said he was attacked by Mr Riley using a metal pole. He said he realised that Mr Riley had a knife and he struggled for control of the knife during which a stab wound was inflicted. He then ran away with the knife. "He ran to his friends house and was not allowed in but was given baby wipes which he used to clean the blood from his hands. He said he then got into a taxi and threw the knife into the River Irwell. Officers later recovered the burnt remains of his clothes." Jailing Waters, of Stanley Street, Cheetham Hill, for five years, Judge Nicholas Dean KC told him: "Whether you had bought yourself time to get your story together to give a coherent account of events to the police or whether it was out of remorse, it is almost impossible to say."
A man who was found fatally stabbed near a park was a "much-loved" and "devoted" dad, his family have said. Tyron Riley, 31, was discovered near Clarendon Park in Salford just after midnight on 27 December and was pronounced dead at the scene, Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said. A murder inquiry has been launched but no arrests have been made. Mr Riley's mother Nicola said he was a "super-talented builder" who had a "huge cheeky smile". The family tribute said: "Tyron, known as Taz was a very much-loved son, dad, grandson and brother, our hearts are in a million pieces. "You were a devoted dad, super talented builder and could turn your hand to anything." 'Aching heart' It added: "You loved nothing more than sending us a million and one photos of the job from start to finish and always said 'I'm ace me aren't a'. "We were always so proud." His family said they would "remember the good times", his "huge cheeky smile and great sense of humour". His mother added: "Taz I'm so sorry this has happened to you, my heart is aching so much, you will be missed deeply." Det Ch Insp David Moores said: "We are continuing to appeal for information to bring Tyron's family the justice they yearn." He added that detectives were "working around the clock" conducting inquiries to "piece together a full picture of the events leading up to Tyron's death".
