Unsolved Murders

Lenny Brown

Age: 54

Sex: male

Date: 18 May 2002

Place: Ackroyd, Bow, East London

Lenny Brown was killed in his flat on 18 May 2002.

A man was tried for his murder but acquitted.

It was thought that he had been beaten to death with a wheel brace.

Lenny Brown was a drug dealer.

The man that was tried for his murder admitted that he had been to Lenny Brown's flat that day to buy drugs but said that when he had gone there he had found the door open and said that he had gone in and found Lenny Brown with the drugs and that he then gave him the money and walked out leaving Lenny Brown alive and well.

However, in court it was heard that another man that had been waiting for the man tried for murder outside in a car said that when the man returned he had a wheel brace with him and blood on his hands.

It was heard that the man tried had a long criminal record dating back to 1979 when he was convicted of fire-raising.

It was also heard that he had recently lost his job at the Channel Tunnel Link in Stratford and that he had continued to take crack and heroin every day and had paid for his habit by stealing.

At the time he was arrested he was serving time in Dorset prison.
