Date: 15 Dec 2005
Thuy Van Le was murdered during a robbery at the Spanish Wines off-licence in Old Trafford where he worked at 7pm on 15 December 2015.
He was shot in the chest.
It was said that he was shot whilst he tried to stop two men from emptying the till. He had been shot once in the chest with a bullet.
The two men had been wearing masks and were seen leaving the store at about 7.20pm.
It was thought that the people that shot him then went on to rob the McFresh Bakery and off-licence on Claremont Road in Moss Side about an hour and a half later.
Thuy Le was running the shop whilst its owner, his brother, was away on holiday.
There had been a previous attempt to rob the store but the owner was said to have fought back and chased the attackers away.
It was thought that the gun used had been a blank firing gun that had been imported to the United Kingdom from Europe and been converted to fire live ammunition.
Thuy Le was from Vietnam and had been in the United Kingdom for about two years.
