Date: 17 Oct 1958
The body of a newly-born child was found in the lavatory at Cross Field Bus Station on Monday 13 October 1958.
It was found wrapped up in newspapers.
The police said that they were anxious to trace the child's mother. They said, 'We have had a pathologist's report and our interest is now only on humanitarian grounds and directed towards the welfare of the mother. We should like to be satisfied that she is all right'.
