Date: 31 Oct 1903
John Larssen died from hemorrhage on the brain.
He was a Russian sailor and had been on board the SS Borrowdale.
He had been admitted to the Infirmary on the 31 October 1903 in an unconscious state suffering from lacerated hands and died later the same day.
At the inquest it was heard that the vessel had since left port but would be returning the following Saturday and that noted that it was not good enough for vessels to kill men and then go away without juridiction and before the inquest had finished because it might have turned out to have been a case of murder or manslaughter amongst the men.
