Carl Small was stabbed to death in Brixton Road near the junction with Stockwell Road on 8 April 2000 at about 5.30am.

He was stabbed during an altercation between two groups of men.

He was taken to King's College Hospital by ambulance after being found collapsed in the doorway of a shop and later died on 25 May 2000.

His post mortem revealed he died from a stab wound to the heart.

Three men were arrested on 27 April 2000, but nothing more is known.

The police said they were interested in speaking to a woman that had helped Carl Small at the scene. She described herself as a nurse, but after Carl Small was taken away by the ambulance, she left before speaking to the police. She was described as being in her late 30s, wearing a three-quarter length dark jacket and sunglasses, and to be carrying a blue handbag.

Carl Small was from Commercial Way, Peckham in south-east London.
