Elsie May Mellors was found dead in the Butterfly Reservoir.
She had gone out on the Saturday night presumably to go to the cinema at Ripley. When she didn't return her parents thought she had gone instead to visit relatives in Clay Cross. Her body was found in the reservoir on the Sunday morning.
Evidence showed that she was always happy and cheerful and that there was nothing to show how she had got into the water.
She had lived at White-Gate in Codnor.
A verdict of 'Found Drowned' was returned.
