Akbal Brar was shot in Park Parade near Barra Hall Circus at 9.15pm on 3 March 2001.
He had been driving a white Ford Fiesta car with a friend when he pulled up in Park Parade and the passenger in the car started speaking with a black man who had been standing near the shops. It was said that another man then approached the car and fired a shot through the driver’s side window that hit Akbal Brar.
The man that fired the shot then went off and Akbal Brar and his friend sat in the car for a few moments and then drove home where they called an ambulance.
Akbal Brar was taken to Ealing Hospital where he later died.
Akbal Brar was a trainee mechanic from Southall.
