Andrew Gibson was run over in the Wicker on Thursday 18 July 1935.
His son said that they were walking home along the Wicker and that as they were crossing the road at the arches he heard a motor-car and jumped forward. He said that when he then turned round he saw a motor-car travelling off away from the city catch Andrew Gibson in the back and saw the rear wheels go over his chest.
Another witness that saw the incident said that the car was travelling very fast.
An open verdict was returned.
Andrew Gibson was a music hall artiste and had been lodging in Burngreave Road in Sheffield.
