Teresa Williams

Age: 29

Sex: female

Date: 28 Mar 1957

Place: River Thames, Fulham Power Station

Teresa Williams was found in the River Thames at Fulham power station on 28 March 1957.

Her body was found at the same time as that of William Devlin but it was reported that their deaths were in no way connected. It was said that the strong suction by the water intake at Fulham power station tended to draw bodies to that spot.

Teresa Williams was a housewife and had lived in Middleton Avenue in Greenford.

It was heard that she had suffered from post-natal trouble and had felt that she was not doing enough and 'was not good enough for her child' although her husband stated that she had in fact coped marvellously well.

He said that she had gone out 'for a breath of air' but had not returned.

After her body was found at Fulham power station it was taken to Cadogan Pier by the police where a doctor was called to examine it.

Fulham power station had been just southeast of Byam Street.
